THURNIN comment: “While I was on tour with Nathanael Larochette, he dedicated this song to my two best friends that had passed”, composer and instrumentalist Jurre Timmer explains. “The track is a humbling and fitting memento that strikes me deeply. This is especially true as it comes from an artist who inspired me to start my musical journey in this genre. In return, I wanted to close the circle of his gesture by creating my own rendition of it.” |

THURNIN‘s third album “Harmr” was born out of the deep feeling of grief that only love can bring. Its title refers to an old Icelandic word that is probably more literally translated as ‘grief’ while its contemporary meaning implies ‘sorrow’. The loss of loved ones is hard to bear for anyone. Throughout most of the songs, a lower key and reduced tempo permeate “Harmr”. Despite the album’s darker and more melancholic tone, there are feelings of hope for salvation, loving memories, and glimpses of beauty. THURNIN mastermind Jurre Timmer established a continuous musical context since his debut album, “Menhir”. Line-up Shop |
